Our Orchid Plating Process

Making of RISIS Orchid

1. PICKING THE FRESHEST ORCHIDS

It begins from a seed, sunshine and water. Tender hands run through a field of white and purple tinged orchids, gently cutting them from their stalks and whisking them away to a climate controlled facility.

2. PRESERVING WITH DELICATE LAYER OF COPPER

Gentle breathing and a steady hand are needed to carefully select the orchids that will continue the journey. In a quiet room under a soft light, our technicians choose only the fullest orchids with delicate forms.

3. COPPER COATING

The science finally meets the arts, as the flowers descend into a special mixture whose ions flow onto the orchid petals. Reddish copper flares into life, encapsulating nature molecule by molecule.

4. 24K GOLD PLATING

The copper flower is a thing of utilitarian beauty, extremely strong yet aesthetically graceful. Now the most important stage of the process sparks to life. The humble orchid is slowly plated in 24 karat gold.

5. THE RESULT – A UNIQUE NATURAL WORK OF ART

Light reflects off the wonderful surface, and we inspect every orchid to ensure that our customers get only the very best. Droplets of protective lacquer drip down a now shimmering golden Risis orchid.
